Coffee was first discovered many centuries ago in Northern Africa by a herder watching over his flock.

He noticed that after his sheep ingested certain unique red berries from a local shrub, they became unusually lively, energetic, and spirited. Mystified by their sudden energy, the herder shared his discovery with the local Benedictine monks.

Intrigued, the monks began gathering the berries themselves. By drying the fruit and combining it with water, they created an aromatic, energizing brew. This drink allowed them to stay awake, focused, and alert during their long, late-night hours of prayer, meditation, and scripture transcription.

From these early energetic spiritual communities, the concept of the "Wired Monk" was born—symbolizing the historic union of deep focus, community, and the invigorating spirit of a perfect cup of coffee.
